Innovating Nanobiology,
Automating Discovery.

BioNanomics is a laboratory and robotics makerspacewhere student interns and independent scientists alike can perform research experiments in the field of synthetic biology as well as develop new techniques for automating those processes.

The first non-profit in the state of Indiana dedicated to biorobotics.

A non-profit bio-makerspace dedicated to engaging the community and fostering a passion for biology and robotics.

Our primary goal is to expose students and researchers to cutting-edge equipment, allowing them to explore their own scientific inquiries and learn in the process. A secondary goal we have is to integrate the fields of robotics with the biological sciences. Students will have the opportunity to design and program machines that will allow the wet lab to become (almost) fully automated.

Nature is truly incredible. Even at the protein level, organisms create "machines" to execute their functions. One of our interests is using synthetic biology to learn about these organic nano-bots and manipulate them to fulfill some purpose.

Integrating robotics on every scale

Macro-robotics

Macro-robotics

BNX directly fosters and supports the growth of many local FIRST robotics teams through our space 'The Refinery' which provides a platform for students to grow thier engineering skills and gives them the tools to do so.

Micro-robotics

Micro-robotics

Our wet and imaging labs are full of cutting edge tools which are provided to the community at no cost. These tools allow us to study biology at the nano scale, and build automations on a cellular level.

Be a part of something
revolutionary.

We are teaming up with universities, high schools, and independent researchers in our community to reimagine how science and automation can work hand in hand to discover the future.
